One Little Survivor, One Big Future

Sometimes, rescue begins before a little life has even hatched.

At Auntie Umm's Tiny Paws & Claws Inc., we were entrusted with five Quaker parrot eggs. Their father had begun breaking the eggs in the final days before they were due to hatch.

They came to us for a chance at life.

Sadly, only one baby survived. Another baby hatched too early after the father broke the eggs and did not make it. We carry that loss alongside our hope for the little one who remains.

One tiny survivor. One precious life. A whole future still to come.

This little one's story is still being written. Each new photo gives us another piece of the journey to share, from those earliest days toward the bird this little survivor is becoming.

Growing, one week at a time

We'll keep adding photos and updates here as this little one grows. For now, here are two milestones from the journey.

Three weeks old

Five weeks old

A little bird who needs a name

We've sent off a sample for DNA sexing and are waiting for the results. Once we know whether this little one is male or female, we'll be ready to choose a name.

We're planning a naming contest for kids so young animal lovers can help name this little survivor!

Contest details will follow after the DNA results arrive. We'll share how to participate once everything is ready.

A future family

Our hope is to find this little one a loving family when the time is right. This page will follow the journey, with new photos, updates, and more information about that next chapter as it becomes available.

For now, we invite you to watch this little survivor grow and cheer along.

At Auntie Umm's Tiny Paws & Claws Inc., rescue has feathers, too. Every small life deserves a chance to be loved.
